A quiet interlude

On the way from Munich to Berlin, I decided to check out a small town in northern Bavaria and see some countryside. The town of Bamberg is off the tourist trail but well connected to both cities, and was spoken highly of by the guidebook. The variety of architecture here is quite unusual: from quaint cobbled streets to large Gothic buildings and modern bridges. I particularly enjoyed strolling through the wooded green alongside the river.
