And then the rain came

Well, so much for that. The weather today and yesterday has put a bit of a damper on my plans in the Tatras, it’s been cloudy and raining, with promises of thunder this afternoon! The forecast suggests that Sunday may be better, but I’m not going to wait around to find out. I can’t express my disappointment, but I’m cutting my losses and moving on.

I did manage to get a bit of hiking in yesterday, and climbed a small mountain near Kużnice. The track was quite tricky on the way up, but I had fun. Here are some photos:

This was the view from the summit. As you can see, it was worth the climb.

In the afternoon, I took a cable car up to Kasprowy Wierch in a vain hope that it would be above the cloud. It wasn’t, but as I stood on the platform at the bottom the sun broke through for a moment:

Visibility was practically nil at the summit but I did get some nice views on the way up.

Even though I’m heading off, I’m not quite ready for another big city just yet. I have a plan on how to get my hiking fix. I’ll let you know how it goes!
