English scenery in the Southern Hemisphere

I think I brought the weather with me: apparently it’s been very dry here on the South Island but today it rained quite heavily. Driving down from Christchurch, which could easily be mistaken for a southern English city, I found the countryside very familiar. There were traces of Derbyshire, Yorkshire and the New Forest surrounding small hamlets and farms. Oh, and sheep. Plenty of sheep.

I’m in Queenstown now, which seems like a really cool place, with the promise of great scenery if the clouds clear up. I hope the clouds clear up.
